Etymology : संस्कृतम् [ अर्ध + चालक ]
Meaning : वह पदार्थ जिसमें सामान्य अवस्था में विद्युत धारा प्रवाहित नहीं होती लेकिन ताप बढ़ाने पर प्रवाहित होने लगती है। ये पदार्थ न तो पूर्णतः चालक पदार्थ होते हैं और न ही पूर्णतः रोधी (विद्युतरोधी)।
